Getting kicked in the groin might be easier to take. At least that usually has some reason you know very intimately about sparking the reaction. But job rejections, after all the process, hurt just as much, and you rarely have a clue where it went wrong.
oh, I tend to find out, folks forget I do have a network. But later, or at the wrong moment for me, as I'm still licking the wounds.
Before you say some trite crap, remember, I have not received any of the benefits most do when unemployed. No money from the government, no food stamps, not much else, save charity, some "work" for supplies, and the like.
Four long, nasty years now, without a solid job. Three on the street, another spent floor surfing in various places.
Not sure how much more I can take.
You don't end homelessness by being "tough". you end it by giving the folks the hand they ask for. I asked for a job, and got zilch.
So, here is my answer. I hold grudges, folks. Better pray you never need help from me. I'm the type to rub it in as I do the right thing, but with sarcasm and disdain over your lack, to those who failed to offer me something when I was down.
So, it's time. To really think things over, and ask this question. Is this society worth rejoining now?
That is what I'm deciding, this time for sure.
