Fighting the Winter Blahs - A poem about my mood today

The world is all grey,
save close in splashed color
White and black blending together
hints of sepia trees lining
where the blocks and benches
rise to meet the mountians.

Splashes of green pine trees
fading to black with distance,
while brief moments red blazes
off brick buildings in between
those lands blanketed in snow
when the sun peaks out.

Winter is trying to bury me deep
with His despair and gloomy weather
but I find ways to fight back,
seeing the beauty, instead of the darkness.

Over there the colors play,
as leaves still held on
reddish tint peaking half around
that young Scott Pine tree
against blacktop's stark background field
broken by traffic lane marks.

Down in the sunken garden
melt patterns on the paths
both enhance and break up
the skewed grid laid out
while the plants give one
hope for a coming spring.

Sun peaking through the cloud ceiling
finding a few limited breaks up there
giving me the strength I so need
to turn back to hunting a job.
